Germany's parliament met for the first time on Tuesday, a month after Chancellor Angela Merkel's election victory, with a record number of women and the first two members of African origin.
Thirty-four of the elected members have an immigrant background, accounting for 5.4 percent of the total.
The average age of the Bundestag is just under 50, six years older than the average age of the German population.
Merkel's Conservative Party, won 41.5 percent of the vote and hopes to form a coalition with the Social Democrats, who achieved 25.7 percent - their second lowest score in history.
