Описание: Aloe Vera with a Twist: Begoña Frahija appreciates the skin-care properties of the plant, but above all, Aloe Vera is the new star of vegan cuisine for her. She creates smoothies with Aloe Vera, prickly pear, and gofio, as well as brownies with chili, paired with sweet potato and banana cream and savory aloe flakes. Begoña aims to use the island’s products to reinterpret old recipes and invent new ones. Instead of using meat, she cooks the traditional pea stew with Aloe Vera, and her burgers include Aloe Vera patties, zucchini, goat cheese, and fig chutney. What she needs for cooking is grown in the garden by her father, José Frahija. On the volcanic soil of the Canary Island of Lanzarote, water-storing plants like Aloe Vera and prickly pear grow especially well, but José also manages to cultivate a variety of vegetables and especially a lot of potatoes.
