"I never thought I'd have a MURAL." Derrick Rose reacts to art at Chicago's After School Matters

Описание: The Chicago Bulls partnered with After School Matters, a long‑time Chicago Bulls Charities grantee, and artist Dwight White II to help transform ASM’s new gym. The mural, recently installed in the space, has been months in the making. Dwight first visited the site back in October, and from there, he worked closely with ASM art students to imagine what the mural should represent for their first‑ever gym.

Together, they discussed things that mattered to the students - their programs, the impact of Derrick Rose, and what the Bulls and Derrick mean to the city. At the mural celebration, the students also showcased their own Derrick Rose–inspired artwork to Derrick himself, sharing how his journey influenced them. These same pieces, along with a canvas of the mural, will be displayed in the United Center atrium when the Bulls host Derrick Rose Jersey Retirement Night.

The Bulls were honored to tip-off Derrick Rose’s jersey retirement week with long-time partner After School Matters - honoring a legend and empowering the next generation of artists and leaders in Chicago.
