He talks about his challenges and changes as a Muslim convert in Britain before and after embracing the world's fastest-growing religion.
Paul Salahuddin Armstrong: Even before coming to accept Islam, I've always been a strictly monotheistic believer in the Creator, although unattached to any particular religious community. Not sure about now, but when I was younger, my parents always put our family's religion as "C of E" on forms, but we were never observant Anglicans.
I would describe my parents as more agnostic free thinkers than believers in any particular religious tradition. I officially embraced Islam on 1 March 2000, since which time, I've continued to study religion and spirituality for the past 11 years, both sitting with scholars as well as studying the works of Others.
