Traffic continues to increase, leading to more safety risks. A truck driver needs another pair of eyes, especially in cities. He has to keep an eye on all people, vehicles and other objects around him while simultaneously performing all tasks to do his job. A driver is expected to keep an overview, but also to arrive at his destination in time, safely and without sustaining any damage. A camera and monitor system provides the driver with maximum visibility around his truck. The innovative RadarEye supplements the visibility solution by sounding an alarm to the driver when there is something or someone behind the truck.

Active warning system

The Dutch camera manufacturer has developed various visibility solutions for trucks, which meet strict quality requirements and national and European legislation.

With the development of the RadarEye active warning system, Orlaco takes it one step further. This system unites maximum visibility and detection. The camera and monitor system provides the driver with additional visibility whenever he needs it. RadarEye warns several of the operator's senses with bright green, yellow and red signals when an object or person moves within the danger zone to the rear of the truck. Anything that moves within this zone is visualised by the monitor, preventing both personal injury and material damage. The radar unit sounds an audible alarm, immediately and automatically activates the correct monitor and selects the correct camera.


Impervious to environmental influences
RadarEye is integrated with the vision solution. The radar unit and the camera('s) can be programmed and configured through the monitor. The detection radius is adjustable from 6.5 to 65.5 feet and is divided into five equal zones. The operator can view the monitor to confirm the radar unit is working properly. A signal will show when a defect appears.
The radar unit is not influenced by the environment, such as snow, rain, mud and or temperature changes. Especially beneficial to mining equipment, the reaction response time of these robust units is very fast. Also they are water, shock, and vibration resistant.. Every application is unique, the operator can program the sensitivity in the monitor. Frequencies are globally available.


This warning system is particularly helpful for making deliveries in the city. Driving in the city puts pressure on truck drivers, as they have to stop about 20 to 25 times a day, and standing still is not desirable. Any time saving is therefore welcome. As RadarEye immediately gives an active signal when the driver reverses and something or someone moves into the danger zone, the driver is prompted to look at the image on the monitor. Apart from the fact that it improves driving safety, it also enables the driver to reduce standing still to a minimum, to work more efficiently and to prevent any damage.
