Описание: 青森県十和田市 谷地温泉に投宿してきました。

日本三秘湯の一つに数えられる谷地温泉。三秘湯とは北海道ニセコの薬師温泉、四国徳島の祖谷温泉と谷地温泉を指すと言われています。薬師温泉は閉業しているため、祖谷温泉と共に三秘湯を制覇したことになります。

趣ある建屋が八甲田山麓に佇みます。豪雪地帯の山奥にある一軒宿。現実の世界から切り離された秘湯宿は作家の瀬戸内寂聴氏が源氏物語を執筆したことでも知られています。

昨年アニメにもなった漫画『ざつ旅』でも紹介されたお宿。その歴史は400年以上になります。湯治場として発展し数度の経営難を乗り越え現在も営業を続けています。日本でも有数の秘湯がこうして守る方々に感謝です。

その湯は単純温泉と単純硫黄泉の体に優しい湯。それでいてしっかりと香る硫黄臭がやみつきになる極上泉。そして至高のぬる湯。暗めに調整された照明の中、湯気に包まれる湯浴み時間は何にも変えられない素晴らしい時間でした。更に足元湧出泉というからには日本トップクラスの温泉の一つと言えるでしょう。

こちらの料理はいくつかのオプションがありますが是非選んで頂きたいのが岩魚御膳。3匹の大きな岩魚を使ったフルコースを楽しむことが出来ます。川魚好きな私には料理もたまらない全てが素晴らしいお宿でした。

更に冬のお楽しみは宿に気まぐれで出現するテン。今回の滞在では幸運にも写真家の方が逗留されており、食事をとりながらテンの出現を待ちましたが二匹のテンが楽しませてくれました。外を眺めテンの出現を待つ時間もまたかけがえのない思い出です。

冬の谷地温泉は気候に左右され通行止めも多く辿り着くのも簡単ではない場所にありますが、訪問する価値が十分にあるお宿だと思います。日常では味わえない体験を是非皆さまにも味わっていただきたいです。

I recently stayed at Yachi Onsen in Towada City, Aomori Prefecture.

Yachi Onsen is considered one of Japan's three greatest hidden hot springs. The three greatest hidden hot springs are said to be Yakushi Onsen in Niseko, Hokkaido, Iya Onsen in Tokushima, Shikoku, and Yachi Onsen. Since Yakushi Onsen is now closed, I can say I've conquered two of the three greatest hidden hot springs, along with Iya Onsen.

The charming building stands nestled at the foot of Mount Hakkoda. It's a secluded inn deep in the mountains of a heavy snowfall region. This hidden hot spring inn, isolated from the real world, is also known as the place where author Jakucho Setouchi wrote "The Tale of Genji."

The inn was also featured in the manga "Zatsu Tabi," which was adapted into an anime last year. Its history spans over 400 years. It developed as a hot spring resort and has overcome several financial difficulties to continue operating today. I'm grateful to those who have preserved this one of Japan's finest hidden hot springs.

The water is a gentle simple hot spring and simple sulfur spring. Yet, the distinct sulfurous aroma is addictive, making it a superb spring. And the lukewarm temperature is sublime. Bathing in the steam-filled atmosphere under dimly lit lighting was an unparalleled and wonderful experience. Furthermore, the fact that it's a spring that bubbles up from the ground makes it one of the top-class hot springs in Japan.

While there are several dining options, I highly recommend the Iwana Gozen (char meal). You can enjoy a full course meal featuring three large char. As a lover of river fish, the food was also fantastic; everything about this inn was wonderful.

Another winter treat is the martens that occasionally appear at the inn. During my stay, I was fortunate enough to have a photographer staying there, and while we waited for the martens to appear during dinner, two of them entertained us. The time spent gazing outside and waiting for the martens to appear was also an irreplaceable memory.

In winter, Yachi Onsen is affected by the weather, and road closures are frequent, making it not easy to reach, but I think it's an inn well worth visiting. I hope everyone can experience this unique experience that you can't find in everyday life.

And thank you to all the staff who cooperated with the video shooting. I look forward to visiting again in a different season and seeing you all again. And I want to soak in a hot spring until my fingertips are wrinkled.
