Why a Pulse Is Taken
A pulse is checked to:
• ❤️ Measure how fast the heart is beating
• 🔄 Check if the heartbeat is regular or irregular
• 🩺 Monitor a patient’s condition
• 🚨 Look for signs of illness, stress, or injury
• 📋 Track changes after activity, medication, or illness
CNAs often check pulses as part of vital signs or when monitoring a patient.
