Riku turns 1 month! We visit a shrine to pray for his health and happiness. A Japanese tradition where the baby is taken to a Shinto Shrine after they turn 1 month to have a priest pray for the baby. A small financial donation is usually given to the shrine as a sign of gratitude for the ceremony. The whole ceremony took about 30 minutes. Riku slept thru most of it. We also rented a baby Kimono and hired a photographer for the ceremony.
