Sequence of presentation of the Château Brane-Cantenac vineyard in Margaux. Its plot is divided into 3 large areas.
The first, that of the "Plateau" of Cantenac (historical sector of 1855). These are deep (deep white) soils with clay, thus limiting water stress.
The second, that of Carabin, a large gravelly ridge located next to Château du Tertre
The third one, named "Behind the Park", less qualitative because more sandy with gravette (less marked reliefs and ground more light and less clayey)
The topography, meanwhile, is very interesting because these 3 rumps are cut by 2 streams ensuring perfect drainage. Water then heading to the Marais de Labarde, then to the Gironde.
As for wine, Brane-Cantenac is clearly in the traditional school of the Grand Medoc marked by Cabernet Sauvignon. Here, no excessive extraction. Purity is required to go for the breed of terroir and large Cabernet.
