Описание: Launched in 1918 and commissioned in 1920, USS Farragut began her service in reserve before returning to active duty along the West Coast. She ranged from Oregon to the Panama Canal Zone and took part in a Seattle naval review attended by President Warren G. Harding. But her most dramatic moment came on September 8, 1923, during the fog-shrouded Honda Point Disaster. While seven destroyers were wrecked, Farragut managed to pull free with only light damage—one of the lucky few. She went on to support seaplane operations, Hawaiian exercises, and routine fleet drills until decommissioning in 1930 and scrapping in 1931.
