December 2025 Monthly Meeting | Addressing Structural Barriers to Economic Justice

Описание: During this monthly meeting of NGO CSW/NY, space will be given to consider what is needed for governing institutions to foster and direct the potentialities, the good will, the energies of entire societies towards the creation of a more equitable and prosperous social order.

Economic justice — including fair opportunity and pay, access to decent work, assets, social protection, and equitable opportunities — is important to enabling women’s full participation in society. However, despite progress, many women continue to face structural barriers that inhibit economic equity. These barriers, rooted in prejudice and ignorance, are often magnified when gender inequality intersects with other forms of discrimination such as race, ethnicity, indigeneity, or socio-economic status. By addressing economic structures, we strengthen the foundation for justice and equality for all women and girls.

The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, NY (NGO CSW/NY), supports the work of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and UN Women. NGO CSW/NY is an untiring advocate with Member States for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls across the globe in support of the work of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and UN Women. NGO CSW/NY supports the implementation of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, UN Security Resolution 1325, the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
