Howard University captured the 2026 MEAC Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship with a 53–46 victory over Norfolk State at The Scope in Norfolk, Virginia. The win completes a historic sweep for the Bison after the Howard men also secured the MEAC title.
MEAC Player of the Year Zennia Thomas led Howard with 15 points and 8 rebounds and was named the MEAC Tournament MVP. Nile Miller added a strong double-double with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, while Rookie of the Year Ariella Henigan contributed 11 points to help power the Bison to the title.
After trailing early, Howard responded with a big second-half performance, including a 9–2 run in the third quarter that helped them take control of the game. Norfolk State pushed late, but key baskets from Miller helped seal the 53–46 victory.
With the win, Howard improves to 26–7 on the season and secures an automatic berth to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
