Come visit Historic Roscoe Village in Coshocton, Ohio! And enjoy the beauty created in the 1970s out of Frances Montgomery’s love for gardening. You’ll discover living history tours, delightful shops, historic restaurants, canal boat rides—plus, a growing favorite amongst our green-thumbed visitors: our gardens.
The Toll House is the first garden that Mrs. Montgomery planted. It began in 1969 and features lush ground covers and two dogwood tress moved from Mrs. Montgomery’s home.
The popular Buckeye Garden is aptly named after Roscoe’s one and only Buckeye tree at the time of the garden’s origin in 1974.
The LeRetilley Fish Pond was reclaimed in 1975 from the remnants of an old gas station that once stood here. Visitors can now delight in the dogwoods, seasonal flowers, and playful gold fish, thriving in the spot previously occupied by a grease pit.
Don’t miss the Frances B. Montgomery Memorial Garden that was planted and dedicated in Mrs. Montgomery’s memory after her passing in 1989. You’ll find some of her favorite features including the walls, walkways, and steps of stone, plus a gentle waterfall throughout this oasis.
Come explore and relax in these picturesque gardens or discover more of our pocket gardens scattered throughout Historic Roscoe Village.
