8th track from "Never Turnin' Back" (1980). In my book, this album is as good as it gets! Bruce Hibbard was blessed by our Maker with the gift of music. He can write it; he can perform it; and he can record it—the total package. He even looks the part of the idyllic westcoast artist, with his prominent jaw and chiseled, sun-kissed good looks.
And then there’s his sincerity. Granted, only God can see into his heart but we, his appreciative fans, get an occasional glimpse through the port of his divinely smooth Yacht Rock songs. And, trust me, it's as clear as the waters off Cocos Island. I for one not only believe every word he sings but also experience a swell of exultation—my inner cheerleader spontaneously springs into a high, proud Liberty—every time I hear him resolutely declare: "I'll never find a reason for turning back on You." And make no mistake about it, that's "You" with a capital "Y"!
