Vriezekoop is a hamlet in the municipality of Kaag en Braassem, in the Dutch province of South Holland. It lies between Leimuiden and Bilderdam and has 150 inhabitants.
The name can be explained as follows: a "koop" (purchase) was a plot of peat that someone was allowed to cultivate in exchange for an annual tax. Frisian settlers were already present in 1275, when the name was first found as "Vriesencop."
