Hey everyone, I'm back with another cover, and this time it's a song that's been deeply resonating with me lately: "San Luis" by the incredible Gregory Alan Isakov.
If you know me, you know I'm a huge fan of his music – his songwriting is just so different. In fact, a while back I covered "If I Go, I'm Going" by him and I loved exploring his music in my own style.
"San Luis" has this hauntingly beautiful melody and such evocative lyrics, I just had to try my hand at interpreting it. In this version, I really wanted to strip it back to the bare essentials with just vocals and acoustic guitar, bring out the melancholy in the lyrics with a slower tempo and more emphasis on the harmonies.
