I'm skeptical of the claimed 14 f (-10 c) rating on these but maybe two together will give good results. To be fair, the claim is with an appropriate top quilt and winter sleepwear. It wasn't that cold today. Temps were in the mid 30s, wind chill close to 30 and the two quilts together seemed adequate for the amount of time I was hanging.
The suspension was a bit of a pain. I'll have to look at different ways of attaching them. I found that a removable hammock ridgeline (or no ridgeline if you are so inclined) is required due to having to run the hammock under and through the suspensions for the UQs while the ridgeline needs to go over top of them.
I didn't spend a lot of time hanging today, so I'll revisit these as soon as colder weather sets in.
I priced out some top end UQs at around $400 or more. The most important factor to me, is if the UQ works and keeps me warm with little or no expensive modification. If so then $65 or $70 is money well spent.
