Hello,
In this video, we are going to witness journey to Markandeya fort located in Nashik, Maharashtra.
Markandeya fort is a part of Satmala range. Markandeya stands opposite to Saptashrungi hill.
Sage Markandeya stayed on Markandeya fort thats why this fort got the name.
Babapur is the base village to this fort. You can reach to this fort through two ways one is from
Babapur and second is from Mulane village in Wani. When you come through Mulane Village you come
through Mulanbari pass to reach at the fort.
Markandeya fort is medium level fort. There you will find old meditation caves, cisterns, Kamandalu Tirth,
Lord Markandeshwar temple.
Main significance of Markandeya fort is we can directly see Saptshrungi gad from its top.
Along side Dhodap, Ravlya-Javlya can be seen from the top.
