Описание: Israel's mystery tour with David Hyman - Israeli professional tour guide. Join this video tour to the Golan Heights in the north of Israel. Fifty years ago, during an archaological survy , Yizthaki Gal and Shemarya Guttman noticed a strange circular pattern while observing a militray aerial photograph of the central Golan. They marked the location on their maps and the first visit during 1968 unfolded an amazing mystery yet to be solved. The megalithic (Giant Rocks) structue is made of five concentric stone circles one within the other. The center of the site is a five meter tall rock Tumulus (Tomb Hill). Since the discovery of the site , three different teams have launched excavations , but each dig just adds more questions to the puzzle. The age of the site is disputed by the scholars and expands between Chalcolithic (3.5K BCE) or as late as Middle Bronze (2K BCE).
Also the use of the structer is argued over. Some scholars agree that it is an ancient Tomb structure as it is located in the heart of a burial field of Dolmens, but other scholars argue that the tomb was added later, and the original circles are for worship by an ancient tribe as part of their cult . Modern New Age groups are adding to the mystery and refer to the circles as an ancient calander, or an astronomical observatory. I have also read theories about the site being an energetic hot-spot and therefor fit for alien encounters or communication with the after life...
You are welcome to choose your answer, of do as I do, and just try to raise more questions. If you choose to hike and see the place, please be aware of the dangers of hiking the Golan. Best way is to go on Shabbat When the IDF are not training , and always stay on the marked trail. The site is along section 9 of the Golan Hiking Trail
