WASINI ISLAND KENYA SAILING AND LUCNH WITH A LOCAL FAMILY

Описание: A short video of this beautiful family that invited us for lunch at their modest home. Mohammed, the guide in the red t-shirt works for the Marine Park sailing the Dhows and taking groups to do snorkelling and then lunch at either of the two commercial restaurants on Wasini Island in Kenya.

We met Mohammed on the mainland, we were looking to get to the Island and he was looking for customers. He was a bit surprised to learn that all we wanted was to do a little bit or sailing without others and then get off on the Island and have lunch at a local non touristic restaurant.

He said, "nothing I can do about the Dhows as we must rent them from the park but for lunch I can call my wife and invite you to my place, we don’t have many comforts but you will eat well” … and with that, we were happy.

While having lunch, we past on the idea that they should offer this experience to other people (less the cats!) and gave them some ideas of how it could be done. We offered to help them with the process and with marketing; they don’t have Facebook or any social media just yet but as they say, you must start somewhere. Here are their contact details:
