Описание: Amelia Dyer was an English serial killer who was active in the late 19th century. She is believed to have killed up to 400 infants, mostly through neglect and starvation. Dyer was born in 1837 in Pyle Marsh, England, and was the daughter of a shoemaker. She was married at the age of 19 and had a daughter, but her husband died shortly after. She then moved to London and became a nursemaid and eventually a baby farmer, taking in infants from desperate mothers and promising to care for them. However, she would often neglect the babies, resulting in their death. After several years, Dyer was arrested and convicted of murder in 1896. She was hanged at Newgate Prison in London and is thought to be one of the most prolific serial killers in British history.
