Japanese style STUFFED PEPPERS ピーマンの肉詰め
8 Stuffed peppers
Ingredients:
-4 Green bell peppers
-Flour or potato starch for dusting
-Cooking oil 1/2 tbsp
-Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Meat filling:
-Ground pork or chicken 200 gr
-Onion 1/2 (cut into small pcs)
-Breadcrumbs 2 tbsp
-Milk 2 tbsp
-Salt 1/4 tsp
-Black pepper
Sauce:
-Chicken stock powder 1 tsp
-Sugar 1 tsp
-Garlic (grated) 1 tsp
-Shoyu (soy sauce) 1 tbsp
-Oyster sauce 1 tbsp
-Water 100 ml
Methods:
1.Gather all the ingredients.
2.In a medium bowl, add all the ingredients for the pork filling. Knead by hands until combined.
3.In a small bowl, add all the ingredients for the sauce. Mix well.
4.Cut each of the bell peppers in half lengthwise. Remove the stems & the seeds. Clean the inside of the bell peppers.
5.Lightly dust the inside of the bell peppers with flour (as glue).
6. Stuff the meat mixture into the bell peppers evenly.
Tips:
When stuffing the bell peppers, make sure that the filling fills the bell peppers with no gaps, to help prevent it from falling out.
7.In a frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Once it’s hot, add the stuffed peppers with the meat side facing down.
8. When the meat becomes golden brown, gently flip them over & pour the sauce.
Cover with a lid & cook for about 4 minutes over medium low heat.
9.Remove the lid & spoon the sauce over the stuffed peppers for about 1 minutes.
10.Transfer to a plate & enjoy with steamed rice.
