In this video I take you through the Crooked Bush nature preserve in Saskatchewan, Canada.

This is a 3-acre grove of deformed trembling aspen trees in the west-central portion of the province. This grove is on the southern slopes of the Thickwood Hills within the Redberry Lake Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve covering 277,000 acres in Saskatchewan.

The twisted trees were first discovered in the 1940s and they have drawn tourists from across the world ever since. The trees are prominent in Saskatchewan folklore, and there have been many explanations given over the years to explain the strange trees.

People have reported UFOs in the area that have landed at the grove, a farmer once told a story of seeing aliens urinating in the trees, some claim a meteorite hit the ground and caused the soil to produce odd growth. There are stories from the 1930s of massive rabbits that would eat the sap off the young trees as they were growing, and this caused them to grow in an irregular fashion.

Farmers in the area claim that their cows won't go anywhere near the grove. Many people report feeling dizzy when they visit the area. Others claim it's a sacred space full of positive energy.

Although these trees have been shrouded in mystery and mythology for years, there is likely a scientific explanation for their weird shape. Scientists at the University of Saskatchewan think the trees are likely deformed by a rare genetic mutation. All aspen forests grow from the same clone and it is thought that this grove grew out of a single deformed tree.

Whatever the case may be, this strange group of trees is definitely an anomaly and it continues to draw visitors from all over. I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're interested, it's a cool spot!
