In this 17.5-minute video, Professor Cimbala describes Rayleigh flow - compressible flow of an ideal gas in a constant area duct in which heat is added (or removed) and friction is ignored. He discusses the subsonic and supersonic branches and how the conditions approach sonic (Ma = 1, choked flow) as heat is added; this is the case for either branch.

This video incorporates material from Section 12-5 of the Fluid Mechanics textbook by Cengel and Cimbala, Edition 4.
