“Pushpanjali.
Pushpanjali, meaning ‘offering of flowers’, is a traditional invocatory piece in Bharatanatyam. It is a salutation to the divine, the guru, the audience, and the stage — seeking blessings for a successful performance.
In this presentation, the students of Raga and Rhythm Dance Academy, along with their Guru Mrs. Chaitrali Chitre, offer their Pushpanjali at the feet of Lord Ganesha — the remover of obstacles and the embodiment of auspicious beginnings.
*This piece has been beautifully composed by the legendary Dr. Balamuralikrishna, set to Adi Taal and Raag Arabhi — a raga known for its bright and uplifting character. With devotion in their hearts and discipline in their movements.
Let us welcome them with heartfelt applause as they begin their performance with this divine offering.”
