1.Mould Preparation
The moulds, which are designed in the shape of the desired caps, sleeves, or covers, are cleaned and pre - heated to a specific temperature, usually between 350-400°C. This pre - heating is crucial as it helps the PVC plastisol to adhere properly and cure evenly.
2.Dip Coating
The pre - heated moulds are then immersed into a tank containing the PVC plastisol. The viscosity of the plastisol is carefully controlled to ensure proper coating. When the mould is dipped, the plastisol adheres to the surface of the mould. The dipping time is adjusted according to the thickness of the product required, typically ranging from a few seconds to a minute.
3.Gelation and Curing
After dipping, the moulds are removed from the plastisol tank and placed in an oven or a heating chamber. Here, the PVC plastisol undergoes gelation and curing. The temperature and time in the oven are precisely controlled. Generally, the curing temperature is around 180 - 220°C, and the curing time can be from 1 - 10 minutes, depending on the product thickness and the type of plastisol used.
4.Cooling and Demoulding
Once the curing is complete, the moulds are cooled, either by natural air cooling or by using a cooling system. After cooling, the PVC caps, sleeves, or covers are demoulded. The demoulding process may involve the use of mechanical devices or manual techniques to carefully remove the finished products from the moulds without damaging them.
