Описание: India has been ranked 4th in the world in the 2025 Global Firepower Index, which measures the military strength of countries around the world. This ranking places India just behind the United States, Russia and China, making it one of the top military powers globally.

The Global Firepower Index looks at more than 60 different factors to compare the strength of armed forces. These include things like the number of troops, the size and capabilities of a country’s navy, army and air force, defense budgets, available resources and geographic advantages. The index does not include nuclear weapons capability, but focuses on conventional military strength across land, sea and air.

India’s high ranking reflects its large and well-balanced armed forces, strong manpower base, growing defense budget, and ongoing modernization of military equipment. In recent years, India has invested heavily in modern aircraft, naval vessels, missile systems, and improving its defense manufacturing, which has helped strengthen its position in the ranking.

Being 4th in this index shows India’s increasing importance on the global strategic and security stage. It highlights the country’s capability to defend its interests and contribute to regional and global stability along with other top military powers.
