Punjab Government has imposed Section 144 across the province amid ongoing monsoon rains, banning swimming, bathing and boating in rainwater, rivers, canals, dams, ponds and lakes without official permission for 60 days.

Relentless monsoon rains have triggered severe flooding across Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, inundating villages and forcing residents to flee by boat as homes, roads, and farmland disappeared beneath rising waters.

In Muridke district, volunteer rescue teams used small motorboats to evacuate stranded families from flood-hit communities. Many residents, however, remain trapped without electricity, clean drinking water, or food, as floodwaters continue to rise.

Residents said the flooding intensified rapidly, giving them little time to save their belongings. "It has been four days, and no rescue team has reached us," said local resident Iqra Salman, describing the worsening humanitarian situation.

According to Pakistan's disaster management authorities, flood-related incidents—including drowning and house collapses.

Volunteer rescue teams said four boats are currently conducting evacuation operations across around a dozen affected villages. Emergency responders remain on high alert as weather officials forecast more monsoon rainfall, raising fears of further flooding in the coming days.
