Big Creek is a class 2 trout stream in West Central Wisconsin offering 6 miles of fishing for brook trout. It is formed by the convergence of 4 smaller brook trout streams and eventually flows into the Black River, which has good warmwater fishing. There are a lot of public easements along Big Creek but between the road and the stream is a lot of private property, so you need to find and the access points from the road. Like so many streams in west central Wisconsin, Big Creek is mostly sand with a good amount of woody debris. The stream is not too difficult to wade but commonly the sand becomes soft and you sink into it, so I would sometimes have to get out of the stream and walk along the shoreline to the next spot to fish.
