🔬 ABOUT THE OBSERVATORY:
• Named after Dr. Manali Kallat Vainu Bappu (Founder of Indian modern astronomy)
• Established: 1786 (One of the oldest observatories in India)
• Houses 2.3-meter Vainu Bappu Telescope (VBT)
• Operated by Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore
• Research Focus: Asteroids, stars, galaxies, and other celestial objects
