This week's Zoomin' with Zoe takes us all the way to Italy, where the Winter Olympics are currently taking place. Have you been watching!? I have almost daily, and I've definitely noticed how the weather is impacting athletes...in fact, warming winters across the globe are making it more difficult to find host cities where safe and adequate winter weather conditions are reliable.
There's been many days where temperatures in Cortina have reached upper 30s to low 40s - well above freezing! From skiers and snowboarders having to make it down slushy slopes, to the bobsled/luge/skeleton athletes needing refrigerated air blasting on the outdoor ice track, a warming climate will make it difficult to find cities cold enough to host the winter games!
