First three pirates of the Caribbean movies work great as a standalone trilogy but I’ve always held a soft spot for this flick. I would even argue that this movie is quite good!  I simply like the concept of it. It had great potential. I like that it works as a standalone movie. I like feels more in line with what the first Pirates movie was trying to do. It has some big problems that can’t be overlooked. But there are so many cool ideas, funny character interactions and just a badass soundtrack, I am not quick to completely disregard this movie like some people do.
It also benefits that the majority of Lego pirates to the Caribbean sets were from On Stranger Tides. One of the most nostalgic sets of the 2010s was the Queen Anne’s Revenge! Most every kid my age I knew at the time had it on their Christmas list in 2011.
