Yakushima Island is one place you should aim to visit in Japan to see the contrasts between cities and country areas.
It's a Unesco World Heritage listed location and home to ancient forests, seaside onsens, world class hikes, wild deer and monkeys, and even has a turtle nesting area too.
I hope you get some ideas about your own visit to Yakushima after watching this video.
