Qld LNP President David Hutchinson announces his resignation amid party conflict

Описание: With three months until the Queensland state election, an internal war inside the LNP party has resulted in party President David Hutchinson announcing his resignation.

Mr Hutchinson said "while I feel I have a lot more to give to the LNP, now is the right time for me to step aside and support my successor as they lead the party organisation to a state election victory and beyond".

The shock revelation follows an alleged bitter fall out with Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington.

Candidates who may replace Mr Hutchinson include former party President Gary Spence and current Vice President Cynthia Hardy,
