Описание: In 2007, Glen Lyon bought their first West Zambian sable in South Africa. Soon after they had started breeding them, they realised how small the gene pool in South Africa was. Hendrik Maritz, manager of Glen Lyon, and Scott Gibb, a game capture specialist, decided to attend a wildlife auction in Lusaka, Zambia, held by ZAWA (Zambia Wildlife Authority) in August 2008. There, they bought 100 sable (Hippotragus niger niger) with the hope of expanding and conserving the gene pool. The first phase of the project has been finalised in Zambia. Wildlife Ranching magazine has been invited to exclusively report on the project and will report on phase two in due course.
