Today I'm going to be taking you on a coastal walk from Funchal to Câmara de Lobos, a quaint fishing village in Madeira. This is an easy 5-mile trip that's perfect for anyone looking for a scenic and relaxing way to explore the island.

The walk starts in Funchal, the capital of Madeira. We'll follow the coastal path past Praia Formosa, one of the island's most popular beaches. After about 1.5 miles, we'll come to a tunnel that takes us through the cliffs to Doca do Cavacas, a natural rockpool lido.

After a quick swim in the lido, we'll continue on our way to Câmara de Lobos. The path winds its way through lush vegetation and past stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. In about 3 miles, we'll arrive in Câmara de Lobos, a charming village with a beautiful harbor.

We'll have plenty of time to explore Câmara de Lobos before heading back to Funchal. Be sure to try the local specialty, espada (black scabbardfish), which is caught fresh from the waters around the village.

We also explore the Churchill Bay hotel and museum, whilst visiting some of the shops and market, before getting a €2.20 euro bus back to our hotel in Funchal.
