The Ausable River never disappoints! I snuck away from a family vacation near Lake Placid for an early morning fishing trip on the Ausable. It was well worth the 4:30 AM start, especially after a rainy night!
This trip was packed with action. The trout were super active, literally jumping out of the water! But the most incredible thing I witnessed was the Brown Trout trying to jump up a large waterfall, which you'll see in the video. Let me know in the comments how many jumping fish you count!
I managed to hook into and release a bunch of beautiful Brown Trout, including a couple of really nice ones I'd estimate around 15 inches. It was a beautiful and feisty morning out on the water with the fish giving a great fight!
