Lyon Vlog | Eat & Explore Lyon, France With Us (Our First Day)

Описание: Welcome to the first of 3 Lyon travel vlogs!

This is our first day in Lyon, France and we just stepped off the train from Strasbourg. We climbed up the many steps to our lovely airbnb in Vieux Lyon and then headed out to explore this vibrant and cool city. Lyon is the 3rd biggest city in France and it has a HUGE food culture. In our 3 days we ate so well, and in this particular vlog, the bouchon we tried might have been one of the best meals of this entire trip to France.

The Bouchon we ate at for dinner was called Bouchon Tupin and it was incredible. Every dish was so delicious. We especially loved the Oeuf Parfait en Meurette (The best egg dish of our lives, it was essentially a perfectly soft cooked egg in a thick wine sauce). This was followed by a delicious pasta dish, but the star was definitely the Quenelle Lyonnaise au brochet (the best fish soufflé if I can describe it that way in a lobster sauce that was so flavourful)! For dessert we had to try the Saint-Marcellin cheese, which is a soft unpasteurized mold ripened cheese (it reminded me of brie's more pungent cousin). My personal favourite dessert was the Riz au Lait (rice pudding), as it was easily the best rice pudding of our lives, with caramel and candied hazelnuts... mmmmm! We highly recommend Bouchon Tupin.

Before that dinner we had a little apéritif in our airbnb as we picked up some salami or cured sausage, wine, and some sweet treats (including the cocon de lyon which is my personal favourite). This shop was called Le Sirop de la Rue and it was steps from our airbnb in Vieux Lyon. I would highly recommend staying in this old district as it is so charming and characteristic. If you can manage carrying up heavy luggage on 3 flights of winding stairs (thank you to my fiancé), I would recommend our airbnb, as it was lovely, spacious, and the hosts were very responsive!
