Is it ‘lesion’ or ‘lacuna’?
It is ‘corneal arcus’ or ‘arcus senilis’?
If you are new to iridology those words may not mean much to you yet.
If you’ve been involved with iridology for any length of time, you may know one or the other of those word pairs.
Some iridologists think the words in these pairs mean the same thing.
Truth is - they do not!
Over the nearly 200 years that modern iridology has been evolving various researchers have come up with their own ways of describing what they see.
The meanings they attached to the words they used may have been adequate based on their theories and understanding of the body and the eyes then but as research has continued both the words and the understanding of them has had to change.
Sadly, many iridologists still use the ‘old language’ and the ‘old meanings’.
This only serves to confuse iridologists-in-training and clients.
