The Associated Press Sports Editors celebrated its 50th birthday in 2024. A series of interviews with the organization's presidents were released over the last two years to mark this milestone.
Naila-Jean Meyers was the APSE president in 2023-24 while senior assistant sports editor at Minneapolis Star Tribune. She is interviewed by Erik Hall, the managing editor of The Telegraph in Alton, Illinois.
Meyers talks about launching the Billie Jean King Award for coverage of women’s sports. She expresses her commitment to keep it going for a long time.
