A 33-year-old Beech Grove police officer was shot and killed Monday in the Marion County city, and another officer received injuries not believed to be life-threatening, the department’s chief said. The announcement was made Monday night as hundreds of police officers in Indianapolis were searching for Kenneth Terrell Johnson, who an Indiana State Police spokesman said had opened fire on the two officers as they responded to a disturbance in an apartment.
