At 9,943 feet of elevation Tioga Pass is the highest mountain pass, cutting through Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada mountains from Mono Lake to Modesto/Stockton area in California. The are many incredible views along the way and while camping in Lee Vining (on the shore of Mono Lake), we made an afternoon fishing trip to Tioga Lake, a glacial lake just a 20 minute drive from our campsite. We caught one small Rainbow Trout but the real treat was the awesome views of the surrounding mountains and lakes.
