The North American Aerospace Defense Command, NORAD, said it detected and tracked 5 Russian aircraft operating in the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone on February 19.
The Department of Defense said the Russian aircraft didn't enter US or Canadian airspace and remained in international airspace.
Russian activity in the ADIZ is a regular occurrence and is not seen as a threat, according to the Department of Defense.
