(28 Feb 2022) ARIANA DEBOSE: "THIS IS THE TIME FOR US TO UNITE AND STAND TOGETHER"
At the SAG Awards Sunday, actors are keeping the crisis in Ukraine on the forefront.
Outstanding supporting actress winner Ariana DeBose spoke to the Ukrainian people ahead of the ceremony.
"You are not alone, we're watching, we're standing with you, and we are using our voices in the best way that we know how, but this is not an unprecedented moment. Cycles in history, they are cyclical. But this is the time for us to unite and stand together, and we are with you," the "West Side Story" actress said from the red carpet.
"Yellowstone" actor, Ian Bohen, echoed Debose's sentiments.
""Don't give up. Evil, evil will not triumph over good," Bohen said.
Douglas Hodge of "The Great" wore a blue and gold ribbon in support of the war torn country.
"My wife made it in the hotel," Hodge explained. "And we thought we had to do something, I mean it's great, celebrating something like this. It's great that life has to go on, but you also can't forget that there's, you know, areas of the world that have been bombed into oblivion by a dictator right now. So, yeah, yeah."
The SAG Award ceremony was held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and broadcast on both TNT and TBS.
