The MP5 (PTR 9CT) | Still the Best 9mm PCC?

Описание: The HK MP5 is one of the most iconic firearms ever made. It's a tactical legend that has been used extensively by military and police forces for nearly 6 decades. It is also one of the most recognizable firearms used in pop culture - commonly seen in films, shows and video games since the 1980s. The MP5 has a reputation for being a reliable, soft shooting, easily controlled and highly suppressable submachine gun -- or for civilians, a semi-automatic 9mm pistol caliber carbine (PCC). That reputation is well earned and still holds true today, nearly 60 years after it was first introduced by Heckler & Koch (H&K) in the 1960s.

In this Range Day video, we had an absolute blast shooting my PTR 9CT. The PTR 9CT is an American made full-sized MP5 clone with an 8.86" trilug barrel, featuring the lauded roller-delayed blowback action the MP5 has long been known for. We talk about the MP5's history in pop culture, the feel of the shooting experience, how well it suppresses, the manual of arms, the famous "HK Slap" and more. And of course, we shot it - a lot!

The PTR 9CT is an impressive MP5 clone that feels nearly indistinguishable from other high quality clones and even the legitimate HK SP5. The charging handle and roller-delayed bolt action is extremely smooth, the trigger has a nice consistent break and all aftermarket furniture I have tried has fit and locked up without issue. The welded picatinny rail makes mounting optics simple, and the shooting experience is absolutely sublime. I've owned my PTR 9CT for 3 years and have had fantastic reliability with both my PTR 9CT seen in this video as well as my PTR 9KT (MP5k).

We fired 350 rounds in this range session, both unsuppressed and also suppressed with my Dead Air Wolfman in both long and short configurations. The MP5 is easily one of the best, if not the absolute best 9mm PCC suppressor hosts ever made. The roller-delayed blowback action keeps the breech locked long enough to nearly eliminate "port pop," which results in an extremely quiet and hearing safe experience for the shooter with good subsonic ammo. The DA Wolfman performs wonderfully with the MP5 in both long and short configurations, and we included some comparison footage here as well.

My PTR 9CT is easily one of my favorites in my collection. Not just because it was one of my must-have holy grail firearms that I admired since I was young, but also because it actually lives up to the hype.
