welcome to this weeks woodturning video.
woodturning big laburnum burl.
In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a huge Laburnum burl into a natural edge open topped vessel.
this piece of laburnum has a number of burls on the outer edge and straight grain towards the inner part of the stem
when woodturning burl like this I like to nibble away at it until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what i find so enjoyable about woodturning.
this laburnum burl came from a large tree that was almost entirely burl and fortunately i got my hands of it all so the will be much more of this to come.
