Exposure Therapy is the best approach for overcoming, conquering, handling, beating, a social anxiety disorder. Exposure therapy basically means confronting the things you are fearful of so you can become desensitized to them over a period of time. This is why going to social events regularly and speaking to people helps conquer social anxiety and it increases your confidence and self-esteem. If you are a very socially anxious person then I would recommend you take small manageable steps to talk to people in new social situations. Once you start building confidence and getting more relaxed around people, you can start increasing your level of exposure therapy. It's a continuous process of pushing yourself outside of your social comfort zone so you can keep growing in self-confidence.
If you cannot go out of your house alone because your social anxiety is too intense then get some professional help. Definitely speak to your parents or close friends about your social anxiety so they can offer you some support. Keeping things bottled up only makes your problems worse over time. *SPEAKING UP and ASKING FOR HELP* is not a weakness but a REAL strength. Social anxiety disorder is so common nowadays, it's more normal then you think. Like I said in the previous videos, I have also suffered from social anxiety myself so I know how you feel. I just keep pushing myself to keep meeting new people at social meetups and working out in the gym, which really does help me manage my social anxiety.
"TAKING ACTION" is the only way to overcome your social anxiety and get more confident speaking to people in new social situations. Creating an action plan helps so much with regard to reducing your stress levels and keeping you focused, motivated, optimistic, towards achieving your goals. Never give up on your social anxiety because you will have bad days we all do it's called life. However, those who never give up always succeed in the end.
