Our rendition of the powerful song «Sjåaren» by Gåte. From the fall concert «Til Nord» («To the North») at Kulturkirken Jakob in Oslo, November 3rd 2024.
This performance turned out to be truly special, as the audience joined in and sang along. In the end, we were 500 people singing about peace together. Thank you so much!
"Sjåaren" is a song by the Norwegian folk-rock band Gåte, featured on their 2004 album Iselilja. The lyrics, written by Trøndelag poet Astrid Krog Halse, reflect themes of nature's unchanging cycles, the beauty of life, and finding freedom beyond materialism. The title can refer to an observer of nature and humanity or a seer with visions of the future, blending mystical and philosophical elements. Gåte's signature fusion of traditional folk music with modern rock shines through in this track.
