How to Operate a GE Dishwasher
Here’s a step-by-step guide:
1. Load the Dishwasher
Scrape off excess food, but pre-rinsing isn’t necessary.
Place dishes facing inward for optimal cleaning.
Load heavier items (pots, pans) on the bottom rack and glasses/cups on the top rack.
Ensure nothing blocks the rotating spray arms.
2. Add Detergent
Use a dishwasher detergent (not regular dish soap).
Open the detergent dispenser and fill it with the recommended amount.
Optional: Fill the rinse aid compartment with rinse aid for better drying performance.
3. Before Closing the Door, Select a Wash Cycle
Choose a cycle:
Normal/Auto – Everyday loads
Heavy/Pots & Pans – Tough messes
Quick/Rinse – Light cleaning
Eco – Water-saving mode
Optional: Select Steam, Dry Boost or Wash Temp, and Sanitize if desired. You can also Delay Start for 1-12 hours before starting.
4. Start the Dishwasher
Press the Start button.
Close the door firmly after pressing Start button.
The dishwasher will run through wash, rinse, and dry cycles.
A light or beep will indicate when it’s done.
