Polish Prime Minister Apologizes To The LGBTQ Community For Rejections And Humiliation

In March, Poland’s top administrative court ordered the marriage entered into the national registry. This made it the country’s first official recognition of a same-sex marriage. Speaking before a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Tusk apologized for the years of rejection and humiliation faced by LGBTQ couples. He said, “[This is] a matter of human dignity: the right to happiness, the right to equal treatment by the state...I would like to apologise to all those who, for many, many years, felt rejected and humiliated. For many years, the state has failed the test.”
